Milan Kovačević is an illustrator & historian from Belgrade, Serbia. He is greatly inspired by Baroque and Rococo - art, culture and everyday life of the Gallant age, as well as by the ancient civilizations - art, history and mythology of the ancient Egyptians, Etruscans, Greeks. His illustrations are a homage to the enchanting pleasures of these splendid ages, celebrating love, happiness, beauty and joy de vivre.
"Those who remarked in the countenance of this young hero a dissolute audacity mingled with extreme haughtiness ... could not yet deny to his countenance that sort of comeliness which belongs to an open set of features, well formed by nature, modelled by art to the usual rules of courtesy, yet so far frank and honest, that they seemed as if they disclaimed to conceal the natural working of the soul." Sir Walter Scott, Ivanhoe (1819)
